You’ll need the right documents to cross the international border. Ukrainians can stay in the Czech Republic for a short time without a visa if they have a biometric passport. You only need to obtain a medical insurance policy. If you plan to travel with an old-style passport, you must apply for a visa; the cost should be confirmed at the Czech visa center.
Men must obtain permission from the Territorial Military Commissariat and the State Border Guard Service to leave Ukraine while martial law is in effect. This permission is granted upon presentation of a reservation, in cases of exemption from military registration, to persons with disabilities, parents of large families, and men accompanying relatives for medical treatment abroad. As of 2025, men aged 18 to 22 may leave the country if they have a military registration document.
