Passport control for military personnel
Border crossing rules for military personnel
According to Art. 8-1 of the Law of Ukraine "On Social and Legal Protection of Servicemen and Their Family Members", servicemen have the right to travel abroad.
However, for this you need to get permission from the command and go through a certain procedure.
Military personnel are granted up to 30 days of leave per year, which can be taken in parts, with the condition that one of the parts should not be shorter than 15 days.
To cross the border, a serviceman needs the following documents: a foreign passport, a military ID, an extract from the leave order and a leave card with permission to leave.
The reasons for the refusal may be the absence of the appropriate permission in the leave ticket, a ban on leaving (for example, court orders or unpaid alimony) or other restrictions.
